Human Resources Specialist

Aurora North Software, Inc. is a Burlington, Vermont based software company that develops software focused on enhancing legal operations, increasing efficiency, and reducing risk. Aurora North, an industry leader known for providing advanced technology solutions to law firms all over the world, is currently hiring a Human Resources Specialist to work on our Human Resource Team within the Administration Team division.

The Human Resource Specialist will devote their time to human resource initiatives, reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer. The role of the HRS is designed to facilitate efficiency and organization of internal processes as related to HR functions, and to assist in the engagement and development all employees. The HRS will continue self-education and training to ensure their success and growth within this position.


  • Support the CHRO in all HR efforts, with a focus on department organization, legal compliance, industry best practices, record keeping and documentation.
  • Manage and facilitate benefits, providing tactical execution and logistics management of processes, and procedures related to healthcare, retirement plans, education facilitation, time off allocations, family leave, and future benefits.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, provisioning and orientation, plus exiting and deprovisioning.
  • Execute HR initiatives as related to organizational philosophies and strategies.
  • Manage daily HR activities, including maintaining all human resources records, upholding regulations, ensuring compliance, security and confidentiality.
  • Utilize HR software to accomplish all aspects of running the HR Department.
  • Lead event planning including Employee Appreciation Week which is sponsored by Human Resource Team.
  • Work on employee scheduling, including maintenance of the Aurora North "out calendar" and EE statuses.
  • Coordinate employee development, education, knowledge management and training.

Other duties to include: work as a member of the Administrative Team on any special projects and general company operations, as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in human resources and 3+ years of related experience with significant responsibilities related to compliance, benefits administration, record keeping and HR software.
  • High competency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Positive approach to problem solving.
  • Very strong organizational skills and high attention to detail are required.
  • High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion and integrity (established references to confirm).
  • Team player: the ability to successfully interact and collaborate with co-workers is essential.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Helpful: experience with Bamboo, Office 365.
